Google It, then Postmate It

Order via Google Search, Maps & Google Assistant

At Postmates, we’re all about enabling people to have anything they want on-demand. From how people discover and order their favorite meals, to how fast we can get it to their door we’re always looking for ways to innovate and make the Postmates experience even better. And today we have done just that.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Google to make ordering your favorite food even easier! Starting today, you can order food to be delivered or picked up directly from Google Search, Maps and the Google Assistant.

This integration allows Google users to order delivery from Postmates directly through search results for restaurants and food types. The entire order experience happens in Google’s checkout flow (including payment via Google Pay) but will use Postmates menu data that we will provide via a custom API integration. Postmates will then handle the delivery just as if the order was actually placed on Postmates.

To order in Google Search and Maps, you just need to search for your desired cuisine or favorite restaurant. Then click the “Order Delivery” button, select Postmates and then you can proceed through the order flow.

You can also use your voice and ask the Google Assistant for help. On Android and iOS phones, just say “OK Google, order food from [restaurant].” That’s it! So start Googling — and Postmate It!.
