Introducing Blitz Pricing

Today we are rolling out a new and important feature that will affect pricing of delivery fees on the Postmates platform. It’s called “Blitz Pricing”

Blitz Pricing allows us to increase pricing by a multiple when demand for deliveries exceeds the supply of couriers online. This new feature creates a strong financial incentive for couriers to make themselves available when you need them the most.

You will always be notified when Blitz Pricing is activated during checkout and will have the option to participate at a higher price or order later when demand has decreased.

If you are using an older version of the app, you will be notified with a system alert on the home screen of the app letting you know that Blitz Pricing is in effect. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version.

Q & A

What is the purpose of the Postmates Blitz Pricing?

The goal of Blitz Pricing is to get more Postmates on the platform when demand exceeds supply.

How does Blitz Pricing work?

When there are not enough Postmates to fulfill demand, the delivery price increases by a multiple. When enough Postmates come on the platform, then the price comes back down.

How does this help make Postmates more reliable?

When there is a shortage in supply, the price increases, creating an incentive for Postmates to come on the platform. This substantially increases the number of Postmates available during high demand times. When we raise price quickly enough, we can greatly increase the likelihood that a Postmate is available to do your delivery.

When will I be informed about Blitz Pricing?

You will always be notified when Blitz Pricing is activated. On the latest version of the app, you will see a notification screen at checkout. If you are using an older version, you’ll see a message on the home screen.
