Over the past year, we’ve been getting to know what motivates the members of our Fleet; what they believe, what really makes them tick, and what they want from us to create the world’s greatest on-demand platform.

A survey we conducted in November 2018 showed that over 50% of Postmates viewed the risk of on-delivery injury as a major concern. We know that flexible work opportunities should never be at the expense of your safety. That’s why starting today we are providing occupational accident insurance to every Postmate for every active delivery. We’re thrilled to be taking a big step forward for Fleet members.

As we chart the future of work in a changing economy, Postmates believes gig workers deserve a new deal that doesn’t compromise the flexible work we make possible and offers economic opportunity and a strong safety net with great benefits. Ensuring you don’t have to worry about the costs of accident insurance while you’re on a delivery is just the first step.

Here’s how it works:

  • No sign up. Starting today, every Postmate is covered on deliveries from acceptance to drop off.
  • No cost. You don’t pay a thing — seriously.
  • AND this policy provides up to $1M in protection for covered accidents

We know there are a lot of options for flexible earning; this is the latest addition to our efforts to ensure that workers have the benefits they need and the flexibility they require on our platform.

You can stay up to date with all the resources and tools we are investing in, here.
