White Teas
- Bai Hao Silver Needle$12.00White tea from China. Silver needle is among the most revered of Chinese teas, produced in the funding and then he districts of Fujian province. Gathered only in the few days of early spring, the preparation of this tea is governed by strict requirements to ensure a premium product. This dedication to perfection is evident in the cup, which is sweet and delicate with a clean, airy fragrance. Our ‘sublime needle' is a special grade (bai hao) version of this exquisite tea.
- Kenyan White Sindano Silver Needle$14.00This is a rare, beautiful white tea that is similar to a Chinese silver needle in that it is just the unfurled bud, but has a wholly different character–sweeter, richer, and more floral. Its origins are Kenya and if you like white tea, you will appreciate its unique and flavorful qualities. Many customers have cold steeped this tea and had excellent results.
- Shou Mei White Tea$4.00Just the leaves are left after the bud is used for the silver needle and that is what makes shou mei. This white tea has a deep, rich flavor and makes a satisfying morning tea. Try steeping it with some cinnamon chips for an afternoon treat.
- White Ceylon Silver Needle$14.00I'm so happy to offer this rare and wonderful silver needle from Sri Lanka! When I was there in 2014 our group toured one of the tea gardens growing the unique cultivar for this tea. This cultivar of camellia sinensis does not produce the quantity of new growth found in the traditional assamica and the yield is lower–but well worth it. The taste of white Ceylon is slightly earthy with light notes of stone fruit.
- White Peony Supreme–Organic$6.00Also known as bai mu dan. A delicate tea made from tea buds collected and withered before opening. It offers a preponderance of unopened leaf buds that create a pale yellow, light bodied, yet complex cup with hints of honeydew and a faint floral sweetness.
Scented and Flavored White Teas
- Rose Silver Needle$12.00This exquisite tea is blended with my silver needle and highly aromatic baby roses. The subtlety of this quality white tea and rose will captivate your senses. Each heaping teaspoon large pinch gives several enjoyable infusions.
- White Ambrosia$7.00Flowers and fruit define this lovely white tea. It smells heavenly even before being steeped and is a sensory experience all the way through the process. This makes an enjoyable tea any time of day.
- White Coconut$5.00A wonderful “anytime” white tea with rich coconut flavor. Unlike our white pina colada and this tropical tea does not have pineapple.
- White Earl Gray$5.00So aromatic…! Even if you aren't a big earl gray fan, this tea is an exception. The scent is traditional oil of bergamot with a hint of citrus blossoms and the steeped tea is light and lovely. Now that I've carried it for three years there are many devoted fans of this tea and can't live without it.
- White Ginger Orange Peach$5.00This is a bai mu dan white tea from China with ginger root, orange peel, peach pieces, and other botanicals. This tea has that lovely combination of flavors to relax and savor not too forward and yet still very special.
- White Jasmine Silver Needle$12.00An absolutely stunning tea. Lightly scented with jasmine allowing the full flavor of the silver needle to blend beautifully. This is one of our most popular teas.
- White Peach$6.00This is a tea I crave and drink in the morning as an alternative to my usual black tea. You can have the rich experience of warm peaches all year long with this yummy tea. It is a tea that will get you out of bed in the morning and dare to share it with other family members it will become everyone's favorite. It is wonderful cold steeped as an iced tea.
Green Teas
- Aoi Matcha Delight$25.00Matcha delight is in individually sealed 30 gram cans to retain freshness. This is a wonderfully sweet matcha that tastes great all by itself.
- Bi Luo Chun 2020$8.50This traditional Chinese green is known as “green snail spring” because of its curly and soft shape. The taste is wonderful it reminds me of fresh green vegetables cooked with a hint of butter. This is a “competition grade” from the East mountain of Jiangsu province. Such an enjoyable green.
- Dragonwell 2020$10.00Also known as Longjing, this tea has the depth and customary toastiness expected from a fresh Chinese green tea. This 2020 harvest took its time this year, but it is well worth it. Supply is limited.
- Dragonwell Premium 2020$20.00An exceptional green tea! Each year I try to get the best dragon well Longjing available and it took extra time because of the world wide quarantine. There are limited quantities available but will endeavor to provide this luscious tea as long as possible.
- High Mountain Organic Green$6.50This tea is a lovely small leaf, organically grown green from Fujian province. It steeps up grassy and sweet a great value.
- Japanese Fukamushi Sencha$6.50Fukamushi sencha means “deep steam” sencha and I totally love the taste difference in this tea. Sencha is the most commonly consumed tea in Japan and this particular one is full of rich flavor it easily stands up to two steeps. Personally, I prefer the first steep of my green teas because I think most of the l theanine comes out in the first steep and I like the sweet flavor it imparts.
- Japanese Gyokuro$10.00This is a wonderful shade grown green tea that is about as savory and rich as anyone could want. Why shade grown? It stresses the tea plant and forces intense color, flavor, and sweetness. It's also a little higher in caffeine.
- Japanese Hojicha Organic$5.00Hojicha is a green tea that's been roasted in the final finishing stage. It's a favorite in japan because of its nutty and yet mild flavor. It's usually made from bancha and but this one is made from organic kukicha.
