Bottles of Sake

GoSenHa "Rain of Five Thousand Blades", Junmai Daiginjo

Filtered through mountains comprised of obsidian, complex fruit aromas in the bouquet create the introduction to a symphony of complexity. Clear and fresh whims of ripe Bartlett pear, lychee, and white peach emerge on the palate. The pleasantly soft texture harmonizes great with a subtle dry finish. Prefecture: Nagano
$235.00
0

Harushika "Spring Deer", Junmai Ginjo

The nose on this spring released seasonal sake is a subtle collection of white grapes, tangerine, and sweet rice aromas. Say hello to a very full and ripe Nama that has lots of Ginjo qualities and flavors. Look for pink grapefruit, white grape, and blood orange flavors on a fluid that is fat and chewy that has a little tingle, which means it’s still living! Very vivid with a very proud plumpness this brew has lots of glucose-like feelings with a dry finish. Fleshy and fun, this “Spring Deer” is a full-bodied Nama with bright citrus fruit tones on a juicy fluid that jumps.
$178.00
0

Kubota "Hekiju" Junmai Daiginjo

This Daiginjo, which we call a Ginjo in the store, is the perfect example of a Niigata style sake known as tanrei karakuchi or light and dry. Hekijyu has a nutmeg and pear nose. This Ginjo is as smooth and clean as they come, and subtle flavors of ripe pears and grapes pervade the middle mouth. The ending is anything but, as you will not remember swallowing. This is an ultra-popular sake in Japan and should be tasted by all sake connoisseurs. Prefecture: Niigata

Nishida, Denshu, "Country Squire", Junmai

This ultra-popular Junmai comes from a brewery that only makes 50,000 cases per year, which creates a hyper-demand for such a well-structured and flavorful sake. With a nose of soft grass tones and floral elements, "Denshu" has full flavored beginning of dried fruits and a subtle vanilla under-current. It is a very clean and fresh tasting sake that has a great deal of "umami" in its make-up. It also is rich and deep, which spells out the fact that this Junmai is so well-built that it is both strong and light

Dassai 45, Daiginjo Nigori

The nose is made up of rose water, cream, apple, and melon aromas. Fruity, light, buoyant, bouncy, and soft this unfiltered sake drinks like it is floating. This is no sweet bum rush of flavor like other nigoris, rather it is soft, airy, and feels like it swooshes through the palate. Look for hints of fruit tones like cherries, pears, apples, grapes, and a touch of light whipping cream. This is what a Daiginjo nigori should taste like elegant, special, high-end and delicious Prefecture: Yamaguchi 300ml

Brewer Clifton Pinot Noir 2016

As assembly of each of the blocks and clones from their estate holdings within the Sta. Rita Hills and predominantly fermented as whole clusters. We have always viewed the stem as an inherent part of the cluster, much like a skeleton within a body. The approach is akin to cooking meat on the bone such chicken breast on the ribs. The outcome is that the stem’s participation acts like a corset to render the wine more stern and to lift up the fruit aromatic by fermenting largely as whole berries. The tannin architecture in the wine is also largely a stem derivative which substantiates the back of the palate and is more savory in nature much like tea or soy, but has aromas of pomegranate, white tea, and raspberry. Flavors of dried fig, white truffle and ripe cherry
$115.00
0

Beaux Freres Pinot Noir 2016

The blend is Gran Moraine 29%, Hyland 19%, Sequitur 18%, Dupee 12%, Jesse James 8%, Starling 6%, Zena Crown 4%, and Beaux Frères 4%.

Benvolio Prosecco

Benvolio Prosecco is an excellent expression of both the variety and the Friuli terroir. This wine is a sharp golden straw color with bubbles that are finely textured and persistent. The nose shows fresh citrus with slight hints of honey and fresh flowers. Vibrant on the palate, the crisp acidity acts as a counterpoint to the flavors of ripe citrus, fresh peaches, lemon, green apples, and grapefruit. The finish is light, refreshing, and crisp. Benvolio Prosecco is delightful when served on its own. It is also delicious with fish, shellfish, chicken, and white meat dishes.

Chateau Dutruch Grand Pojeaux 2015 (Red Blend)

$92.00

Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 2017

The wine opens with fresh peach, apricot, and honeydew amidst citrus blossom and rose water. The diversity of aromas in this vintage is astounding as the floral characteristics begin to take center stage with time in the glass along with ample fresh pear and cinnamon. Lush, viscous, and driven by lemon curd, the palate leans toward creaminess but with enough bright acid, green apple, and toast to bring balance and finesse. The ripeness of the vintage drives the mouthfeel as the flavors exude freshness and vibrancy, a unique combination. Concentrated and persistent, again stone fruit appear, albeit in candied form, along with a hint of white pepper and plenty of orange zest. This is a totally food friendly wine that can be enjoyed on its own, or as a complement to any number of dishes – especially fresh seafood, shellfish or poultry. The creaminess of a crab salad or lobster roll will cut through the acidity and citrus notes of the wine beautifully. A Napa Green Certified Winery

Since the release of their first wine, the 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon, they've been a standard bearer for what this warm-climate corner of Sonoma County can produce. And year after year Jordan's Cabernets continue to deliver bold, ripe flavors, beautifully polished with ideal balance for aging. The blend for this 2016 is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels for 13 months, 49% new and 51% one-year-old. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 92 points saying "Showing an elegant structure, this historic wine is well integrated in terms of tannin and soft, supportive oak. Dried herb and clove mark the midpalate, adding seasoning and complex character to the currant core."

Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the best qualities of the year to great effect. Powerful, incisive and tannic, yet also medium-bodied in structure, the 2014 is laser-focused and exceptionally beautiful. Precision and finely sculpted, the 2014 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own, but it is incredibly vivid and poised, even at this early stage. Red fruit, wild flowers, orange peel and chalk add brightness throughout.

Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Our 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 94.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4.0% Merlot, 0.5% Petit Verdot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc and 0.4% Malbec. In early 2017, the final blend was transferred to American oak barrels from our cooperage, The Oak, where it aged for 24 months. Half the barrels for our 2016 Alexander Valley vintage were new, providing a subtle, layered expression of bay leaf, coconut and vanilla to our wines. Blending before barrel aging—a signature of our winemaking style—allows blends to be based on the inherent qualities of their vineyard components before oak influence. Vintage to vintage, the resulting Cabernets emerge integrated and ready to drink upon release. Tasting Notes: Our 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is ruby in color with a magenta rim. It has an enticing nose of cassis, blackberry, vanilla, sage and spearmint. Upon entry, this wine builds from potpourri and bramble to a bright pop of raspberry on the mid-palate. A juicy finish with chewy tannins and a medium length, it will provide drinking pleasure through 2042 with proper cellaring.

Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is the signature champagne of the House. Dominated by Pinot Noir, it offers a perfect balance of structure and finesse. First, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. Next it is so pleasing to the nose: initially reminiscent of yellow and white fruits, then of vanilla and later of brioche. Note the fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from the grape varieties and the toasty aromas, the result of the three years of bottle aging. The first sip delivers all the freshness and strength so typical of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label with a symphony of fruit tastes following (pear, lemon). Here is a true member of the Brut family, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or almond notes distinct. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors - strength and silkiness - and to hold them in perfect balance with aromatic intensity and a lot of freshness. This consistent power to please makes it ideal as an apéritif, and perfect as the champagne to enjoy with a meal

Drappier Champagne

The Drappier Carte d’Or expresses all the aromas of the noble grape variety Pinot Noir. This in fact constitutes at least 80% of the blend. A red grape producing white juice, it is sought after not only for its structure but also for its very characteristic fine notes of red fruits.

Dom Perignon 2009

The 2009 Dom Pérignon is open, seductive and radiant, as it has always been. Soft curves, mid-weight structure and tons of plain allure make the 2009 impossible to resist in its youth. This bottle, the best I have tasted so far, offers a distinc citrus and floral-driven profile that adds a good deal of brightness. Above all else, the 2009 is a gorgeous Champagne to drink now and over then next few decades. This is the first time in the house’s history that a vintage was not released sequentially.

Domaine Allimant-Laugner Cremant d'Alsace

Based on Pinot Noir the NV Crémant d'Alsace Rosé Brut has a very pale color with just a hint of rosé. Very delicate fruit aroma with hints of red berries and flowers on the very subtle, fresh and elegant nose lead to a full-flavored and quite expressive palate. The wine is quite powerful and fruit intense but in a discreet and elegant way. Firmly structured but provided with fine bubbles and an aromatic aftertaste there is really finesse in this very well-made and distinctive sparkling wine

Red Stitch Pinot Noir 2016

94 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine by retired baseball stars Rich Aurilia and Dave Roberts shows both ripeness and restraint in all corners. On the nose, that means star anise and slate layered across black cherry and blackberry fruit. On the palate, the very full mouthfeel packs thyme, crushed herbs and elderberry flavors into an earthy package." Drawn together through a blind tasting group, former Major League Baseball players Dave Roberts and Rich Aurilia got interested in wine big time. After the 2008 baseball season, they started to lay the groundwork for Red Stitch Winery. A friendship with Mi Sueno's renowned winemaker Rolando Herrera brought the idea to fruition. Rolando's knowledge, relationships and enthusiasm have given them the opportunity to source incredible grapes from some of the finest vineyards in California. In 2011, they started sourcing Pinot from two of the finest vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands VA, Soberanes and Sierra Mar.
