Road House

Roadhouse is a seasonally rotating coffee that is essentially our "house blend" except it is always single-origin. As opposed to being a dumping ground for old coffees, however, the roadhouse is no exception to our buying practice of sourcing the finest, rarest, freshest, and most delicious green coffees in the world. We will never compromise on quality, but also understand the need to keep an eye on product costs, so we will only use coffees that hit both our quality standards and fit the pricing model for a roadhouse. This season, our roadhouse is a phenomenal coffee from Huila, Colombia. It was sourced by red fox coffee merchants, our trusted partners who have been sourcing a large percentage of our coffees since we started roasting. This coffee is sweet and juicy with a heavy body and lingering finish. Perfect for any brew method, you can't go wrong with roadhouse no matter how you take it!

Duromina

Ethiopia is our "desert island" origin, the epitome of what we at variety love about coffee. Duromina sings with flavors of Ranier cherry, donut peach, prosseco, and wild honey. Tropical complex, bright and sweet, lingering and delicate, it's a marvel to taste and just a glimpse of what's to come this year as we plan to roll out many more Ethiopian jammers in the months to come.

Villa Hermosa

Alfredo Gomez has been producing coffee for over two decades on Finca Villa Hermosa. The seven-hectare farm dates back to 1940 when his grandfather first purchased the land. Alfredo has been around coffee cultivation his entire life and wholeheartedly believes in the value of his product. This single caturra varietal lot represents outstanding cherry selection, processing, and drying through aromatics of black currants, honey, and almonds that opens to a balanced cup with a hint of navel orange, cinnamon spice, and a lingering baker's chocolate finish.

Finca Clabelina

Cooler temperatures and longer ripening translate to a sweet cup modulating between tropical fruits and vanilla bean with the buoyancy of plum-like body. Aromatics of grape and caramel distinctively express the caturra and Colombia varietals emphasizing the pristine nature of the qualities we love in the best Colombian coffees.

Clabelina Natural Process

This coffee was dried in the "natural" style of processing. The basic definition of this is that the coffee cherry is dried as it is picked, with the fruit still on the seed. This results in wild, exotic, fruity flavors. Most coffees we serve are washed; the cherry is removed after picking. It is easier to avoid defects this way, as the natural process is prone to ferment and many other issues. Juan Saldarriaga is a fervent believer in slowing the natural fermentation process as quickly as possible in order to gain the most control over the process. By ensuring the freshly-picked cherries are cooled down as quickly as possible he is able to slow down the progress of micro-organisms feeding on the cherry, slowing the natural fermentation. Then, he can dry the cherry as it stays on the seed in a slow, controlled, and consistent manner. The resulting coffee sings with fruit notes of honeydew and lychee, with a deep desserty sweetness and unforgettable aroma.

Genji

We are pleased to offer an exciting addition to our Ethiopian menu this year! Genji, or Nano Genji, is a brand new washing station that opened this year as part of the Nano Challa, a cooperative whose coffees we have proudly served for years. This cooperative is part of the Kata Muduga Multipurpose Farmer's Cooperative Union - an overarching organization that includes some of the best known, highest quality producing washing stations in the country. This new washing station is off to a great start, with quality equal to Nano Challa while still uniquely different. Light and delicate flavors of apricots and champagne delight, while a deep current body holds down the bass.
