1. bring 5 quarts of water to a boil. add salt or seasonings to taste, if desired. 2. stir in contents of package. 3. return to a boil and cook, uncovered, for 12-14 minutes, or until desired tenderness. stir occasionally. if preparing pasta, drain and serve immediately. if making a soup, the pasta can be fried before adding the water.
