Postmates Helps Connect Fleet to Healthcare Resources

It goes without saying there are a lot of unanswered questions about healthcare and Open Enrollment — especially for independent contractors, freelancers, and small business owners.

As Postmates expands into new cities and creates more flexible work opportunities for many, we want to help connect our Fleet to resources that enable them to more easily evaluate healthcare plans and options which meet their needs and budgets.

We’ve teamed up with resource platform Stride to take the guesswork out of choosing the right healthcare plan in 2018, while helping navigate questions that individuals may have about important government resources like www.healthcare.gov. Through our partnership, we are proud to join forces with the Tech United for Independent Access to Healthcare — a coalition of on-demand, sharing-economy, and tech-health platforms — to provide as many people as possible the most up-to-date information about this year’s Open Enrollment period.

We’re sending out an educational email on Nov. 6 to our Fleet that includes clear-cut information about:

  • The Open Enrollment process
  • Access to enrollment tools, like Stride, to help individuals pick the plan that suits them best.
  • Key dates to be mindful of
  • And general FAQs around navigating the care selection process

By providing information and resources, we hope the members of our Fleet are able to approach Open Enrollment period with confidence and without much of the guesswork that often comes from trying to balance a busy life with the complexities of healthcare.

A coalition of tech companies plans to engage those who work on their platforms about Open Enrollment. Platforms like Fiverr, Care.com, Etsy and others will be using email and in-app notifications to remind the independent contractors on their platforms of the opportunity to purchase health insurance — reaching 3.5 million people.

Postmates works with Stride, our preferred health insurance provider, to provide affordable access to health insurance for drivers. Enrollment runs from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15. Get started today at postmates.stridehealth.com/launch.
